Talk about a fantastic new series by an outstanding author! After the Civil War, so many wives and mothers suffered the loss of their husbands. Sometimes this was a good thing since women had no rights in those days, even if she had an abusive husband. Her main concern was often to protect her children to avoid their being beaten or verbally abused. Women often had children while their husbands were gone, and some suffered miscarriages. This book shows some of these problems. The need to escape memories, good or bad. Also, finances could dictate their need also. Men that may not have fought in the war, also needed wives. Some men lost their wife in childbirth, and some just needed a good wife. Both men and women took a big risk. This particular story shows joy as well as tragedy; but, it also showed how the love of God can bring light into our life, IF we allow it. This was a book I didn’t want to stop reading, and it makes me look forward to the next one since friends, true friends, can be such a wonderful joy in our lives. I highly recommend this book for all ages.Product details

Another good one by Charity McColl. Really enjoy her writing. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Wow this book was amazing. Susan is a war widow that endures so much. She even loses faith at one point. To see how she overcomes the turmoil in her life is amazing. She is a strong woman. I was given a copy of the book to read.
Well written, great story line, believable characters and so much more. I've yet to read one of Terri's books that I haven't liked. Also, if you are looking for clean, inspirational books, look no farther, these are it! Keep up the good writing, we sure do appreciate it!
Received an ebook for an honest review. Susan's first husband was abusive and her friends talk her into being a mail order bride. Her 2nd husband is kind and considerate. He send for one of her friends when she becomes depressed. These friends may get a 2nd chance but still have a hard life.
This is the 41st book I read by Terri Grace. This book's storyline was okay & sad 😢. I liked Donald's character. I was happy 😊 for Donald. My heart broke 💔 for Susan. I didn't like Bentley. I liked the ending.

Terri Grace has the makings of a nice new Bridal Series, this is the first in her war widows tales with young Susan Winter, a mother of two small children who has given up on God, her dwindling faith and the love of a good man since she cannot mourn the death of her rough and brutal husband in the war. This takes us from her despair of finding a way to live after the war and balancing it with what she never thought was possible finding the love of a good man somewhere out west and starting life anew with a hope of a dream.
Not the typical mail order bride short story. Abuse, he dies, she is glad, she has 2 children and after friends persuade her, she answers mail order bride ads. She moves west to be a bride, yet sorrow happens.
